In her opening remarks, Dr. Susan Labutap, Education Supervisor representing Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, thanked and congratulated the management, personnel and students of RMC for staging the first international convention.

Dr. Pablo F. Bosquit, the Dean of the Graduate School and Chairperson of the convention, said that the event was a concrete manifestation of the importance of research which is a pillar for higher educational institution.  The other pillars are instruction and community extension.

The convention was co-sponsored by the Philippine Association for Graduate Education (PAGE) XI and the Council of Deans for Graduate Education (CoDGE) XI. The whole community of Rizal Memorial Colleges was actively involved.

“The success of the convention was not only attributed to one person.  It was a conglomeration of many people working together to achieve a goal,” added Dr. Bosquit.

Two senior high school students and their professor, Dr. Ida G. Tudy, represented Cor Jesu College. The just concluded international research convention in Davao was the third time Cor Jesu College sent selected senior high school students as participants and presenters.
