School eyes student exchange program with Japan

Seeking personal growth and filling cultural gaps, Japanese Consul General Yoshiaki Miwa woos for a possible student exchange program between Cor Jesu College (CJC) and Japanese schools.

Consul General Yoshiaki said in an interview during his visit on September 26, 2019, that he is interested to facilitate such a student exchange program.

“This kind of activity, in the future, will have some student exchange coming from this school and it must be very good”, he said.

Moreover, according to Consul General Yoshiaki, there are already student exchange programs happening here in the Philippines but mostly with schools from Manila.

“So far, we are already accepting student exchange in Manila,” he articulated.

However, through the initiative of the Consul General, the Japanese Government is planning to extend such partnerships with Davao-based schools and foresees CJC as one of the beneficiaries of the program.

“We would also like to provide access to the student exchange program in Davao,” Miwa stated. “So that the benefits of the program may be enjoyed by students here,” he added.

For now, the Consul General is having some series of action but he discerns that this business would take some time notably with regard to the process of making the program possible.

“It must take some time but I found student exchange very important,” he concluded.
