Rooted in Christ’s Love: Cor Jesu College Celebrates 66th Founding Anniversary and Honors the Legacy of Fr. André Coindre

Cor Jesu College (CJC), together with the Brothers of the Sacred Heart–Philippine Delegation, joyfully commemorated two significant milestones on September 27, 2025—the 204th Founding Anniversary of the Institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and the 66th Founding Anniversary of Cor Jesu College.

Guided by the theme “Cor Jesu College at 66: Rooted in Christ’s Love, Guided by Integrity, Inspiring Change,” the celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic Mass held at the CJC Gymnasium, presided over by Rev. Fr. Juvy Adivino, MJ.

The highlight of the occasion was the official launching of the Bicentennial Celebration of the Death of Fr. André Coindre, founder of the Institute. This global commemoration, which will culminate on May 30, 2026, was symbolically marked through the Rite of Blessing of the Mission Symbols and the Ceremonial Tree Planting dedicated to Fr. André—serving as enduring reminders of the Brothers’ commitment to living and sharing their founder’s charism.

The day’s festivities brought together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and members of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in a shared spirit of community and gratitude. Activities began early with a Fun Run at 4:30 a.m., followed by the much-anticipated Palarong Pinoy, where participants—grouped into Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow teams—engaged in traditional Filipino games that fostered teamwork, camaraderie, and cultural appreciation.

In the evening, following the liturgical celebration, Cor Jesu College honored its own through a Recognition Ceremony for tenured employees who have faithfully served for five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, and thirty years. The tribute reflected the institution’s deep appreciation for their unwavering dedication, echoing the values of service and fidelity that define the CJC mission.

The anniversary celebration also extended beyond the campus. On September 26, 2025, the CJC community launched its festivities with a Tree Planting and Growing Activity in San Antonio and Sta. Rosa, followed by a Community Day Outreach in Barangay Dulangan. CJC employees, students, alumni, and Brothers shared food and medicine with families, facilitated fun games for children, conducted technical and vocational skills workshops, and hosted parental enrichment sessions aimed at strengthening family life.

That same afternoon, the Sacred Heart Formation and Ministry (SHFM) Office continued its Charism Promotion Sessions, engaging college faculty and administrative personnel in a deeper reflection on Fr. André Coindre’s spirituality and mission.

With its meaningful blend of liturgical solemnity, cultural celebration, community service, and institutional recognition, Cor Jesu College’s 66th Founding Anniversary stood as a living testament to its enduring legacy. The occasion not only celebrated 66 years of transformative education but also reaffirmed CJC’s steadfast commitment to the mission and charism of Fr. André Coindre—a legacy of faith, compassion, and service that continues to inspire generations of Hearts Ready to Serve.
