New BSH Delegate Superior appointed

Brother Noelvic H. Deloria, SC, 47, was appointed by the Province of New York as the new Delegate Superior of the Institute of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart (BSH) – Delegation of the Philippines. He took his office on July 1, 2012.

Brother Noelvic made his first profession of vows on May 12, 1984. Since then, he has been into different assignments and responsibilities. In 1987 to 1990, he was a classroom teacher at Cor Jesu High School in Mabini, Compostela Valley Province. It was a period where he developed not only his teaching skills but also on how to transcend from merely an act of passing knowledge and disciplining students to becoming a real brother to those students who were poor and in need of hope.

He took a challenging assignment in formation when he was appointed as formator of the aspirants in 1990 to 1995at Catalunan Grande, Davao City. This particular assignment prepared him for a bigger task ahead. In 1995, he was sent back to Mabini. This time, he was given his first leadership position for he was appointed as principal of CorJesu High School.

The Brothers in the Philippines entrusted to him a much bigger responsibility. In 1998, he was first appointed as Delegate Superior in the Philippines. His term ended in 2008. In his ten years of leadership, he initiated different projects and innovations for the Institute.He has caused for the construction of the Youth Resource Center in Davao City. He even introduced to the brothers Appreciative Inquiry as a tool in leadership to effect positive change in an organization. He also introduced new and unique endeavors for youth ministry of the brothers.

In 2009, he was sent to the Archdiocese of Manila together with two other brothers. They were the pioneering brothers to start a ministry in Luzon area. The brothers worked as campus ministers to different campuses in Manila. Brother Noelvic was assigned as a campus minister at Far Eastern University for two (2) years, in 2009-2011.

Prior to his appointment as the new Delegate Superior last April 2012, he was the Director of Asian Religious Formation Institute (ARFI) – Southeast Asian Interdisciplinary Development Institute (SAIDI) in Antipolo City.

Brother Noelvic took over Brother Ellakim P. Sosmeña, SC who served Delegate Superior for four (4) years and is presently the President of Cor Jesu College.
