MPA professor promoted to DILG’s national position

Ms. Debbie T. Torres, a faculty member of the Graduate School Department of Cor Jesu College, Inc., is recently promoted as OIC Assistant Director of the National Barangay Operations Office (NBOO), under the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Ms. Torres, whose last assignment was a Provincial Director of the Province of Davao Occidental, had been a part-time faculty teaching different subjects in the Master in Public Administration (MPA) Program of Cor Jesu College.

“She is one of our experts in public administration because of her academic qualifications, but especially in her experience in the government service.  We are happy she is given a much broader responsibility so that more people will benefit from her expertise”, shared Dr. Randy A. Tudy, the MPA program coordinator, MPA Program of Cor Jesu College.

Her colleagues in the province will surely miss Ms. Torres.  “She is a dedication to public service personified.  We, the DILG field officers, look up to her for guidance and wisdom,  given her valuable experience and indubitable expertise.  With her promotion, a part of us is sad, for she is a fixture in our team. Still, we are also proud for she can provide grassroots and field perspective to policies to be formulated by the Central Office”, Mr. Prince Lloyd Depalubos, a municipal local government operations officer of the local government unit of Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental.
