Faculty Formation Session Inspires Educators to Become “Sowers of Hope”

The faculty of the College of Health and Sciences gathered for a formation session, faith sharing, and prayer on March 4, 2026, as part of the institution’s continuing effort to deepen its mission-centered identity.

The formation session focused on the charism of André Coindre, emphasizing the call of educators to become “sowers of hope,” especially for students who are poor, vulnerable, and underprivileged. The reflection invited faculty members to see their vocation not merely as a profession, but as a mission of nurturing dignity, compassion, and hope in the lives of the young.

Led by their dean, Antonina H. Rebato, R.N., M.A.N, the faculty actively participated in the session and expressed a renewed sense of purpose after the activity. The gathering was marked by vibrant and heartfelt sharing, as educators reflected on their experiences in accompanying students in their academic and personal journeys.

The session was facilitated by Jahmil B. Mabida, MAT, Director of the Sacred Heart Formation and Mission Office, who guided the participants in reflecting on how the spirit and mission of Fr. Coindre continue to inspire educators today.

The formation activity served as a meaningful reminder that education in the spirit of Fr. Coindre is ultimately a mission of hope, where teachers are called to touch lives, uplift spirits, and accompany the young toward a future filled with promise.
