Cor Jesu College signs MOU with Autodesk

mousignCor Jesu College, through its Engineering and Technology and Computer Sciences Divisions, signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Autodesk, the world’s leading software maker of 3D design tools for engineering, manufacturing and entertainment, Wednesday, November 26 2014 at the Thibault Building, CJC Main Campus, Digos City, Davao del Sur, Philippines.

Dr. Randy Tudy, PhD, leads the CJC delegation as the school’s officer-in-charge, together with Engr. Jonas Placer, M. Eng. and ETD chairperson, and Mr. Benjie Pabroa, MIT, officer-in-charge of CSD.  The Autodesk contingent is represented by Autodesk Asia Pte, Ltd – Philippine representative office Country Manager, Engr. Teddy Tiu, Senior Technical Specialist (Engr) Noah Arles and Industry Sales Manager Earl Guce.

Under this MOU, Cor Jesu College ETD-CSD students, faculty and mentors gain access to Autodesk’s Academic Resource Center and Education Community portal and explore the many tools and concepts for potential integration in the two divisions’ curriculum offerings.  Over the next three years, Cor Jesu College may obtain licenses and install the various products from the Autodesk Academic Resource Center free of charge, and incorporate innovation into the engineering, technology and computer studies disciplines.

Engr. Noah Arles, Senior Technical Specialist, presented the Building Information Modelling concept to showcase the latest innovations and directions in the Architectural, Civil and Environmental Planning fields. During the presentation, he showcased the latest versions of AutoCAD, Revit, Robot and Infraworks, among others.

“Given equal access to cutting edge technology, our students gain the opportunity to perform with the world’s best and excel in the process. It is no longer enough for Cor Jesu College to see  students graduate and pass board exams. We wish to see them perform in their chosen careers and become excellent members of industries and services. With this partnership with Autodesk, we have made a great step forward” said Engr. Nelson Tandug, CJC ICT Director, who initiated the talks with Engr. Teddy Tiu, Country Manager of Autodesk Asia-Philippine Representative Office in August of this year, which led to today’s event.
