Digos City, Philippines – Cor Jesu College (CJC) has reached a significant milestone as it is officially granted the ISO 21001:2018 Certification for its Educational Organization Management System (EOMS). This remarkable achievement places CJC at the forefront of quality education management, making it the first educational institution in Davao del Sur  and one in four HEIs in Davao Region to receive this prestigious certification.

The rigorous three-day audit process, conducted from March 17-19, 2025, covered 38 organizational units, demonstrating the institution’s adherence to international standards. The audit was led by Mr. Edmund Angelo Laroza with Ms. Amelita Llibeth Cruz, who confirmed CJC’s compliance with ISO standards. Achieving zero nonconformities and only minimal recommendations for improvement, CJC has proven its unwavering commitment to excellence.

This success is the culmination of ten to twelve months of dedicated efforts from the college’s top management, faculty, and staff. Throughout this period, personnel engaged in extensive training, internal audits, risk assessments, documentation, and process development to ensure compliance with ISO standards.

The lead auditor praised the institution, stating that all auditees demonstrated competence in their respective roles—a testament to the dedication and professionalism of the entire CJC community.

Reflecting on this achievement, Br. Ellakim P. Sosmeña, SC, PhD, President of Cor Jesu College, emphasized its significance: “to the school in raising its standard of operation and that will result to quality service to the school community.”

Br. Ernesto Quidet Jr. SC, DBA, Vice President for Finance and Administration, acknowledged the collective effort behind the success: “I am sincerely grateful to all the administrators, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel for the efforts they have extended, despite their demanding schedules, in support of our ISO 21001:2018 accreditation process.”

The entire process of preparing the ISO certification was very challenging, but results are very fulfilling and satisfying specially now that we are starting to see the effects of enhanced implementation of systems and processes.” remarked Dr. Kirt Anthony R. Diaz, one of the key leaders in the certification process.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Mabelle Senarillos, Quality Management Officer, highlighted the rigorous process involved in achieving the certification. “This experience challenged our determination and commitment to precision. Yet, with teamwork and unwavering effort, we successfully met the rigorous standards. It reflects the collective dedication to driving ongoing improvement within our institution.”

This accomplishment further solidifies CJC’s reputation for educational excellence, adding to its distinctions as an autonomous institution granted by CHED and a PAASCU Level 1, 2, and 3 accredited school across its various departments and programs.
