Digos City, Davao del Sur — Cor Jesu College has achieved another significant milestone in research and innovation after being officially granted a Patent for Invention by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) for its invention entitled Automatic Coconut Meat Grinding Machine.
The patent, issued under Patent No. 1/2023/050694, was granted on May 22, 2026, recognizing the originality and inventive merit of the technology developed by the institution. The patent remains in force until December 4, 2043, subject to the provisions of the Philippine Intellectual Property Code.
The patented invention was developed by Jonathan B. Tungal, John Eloise B. Cahagnaan, Shane Patrick A. Panilag, and Sairia Faith A. Cadiz, whose collaborative efforts resulted in an innovative machine designed to improve the efficiency of coconut meat grinding.
