Cor Jesu College – A MikroTik Academy

MikroTik is a Latvian company which produces networking equipment and software for data network management purposes, internationally known for its RouterOS and RouterBOARD brands. MikroTik Academy is a program of MikroTik for universities, colleges, and other educational institutions. With the demand for network engineers with expertise in MikroTik products constantly increasing, the MikroTik Academy program enables these educational institutions to organize MikroTik Classes using RouterOS as a learning tool. Students may obtain internationally recognized certificates (MTCNA) that confirm their academic credentials. Last February 12-19, 2018, Cor Jesu College produced three MikroTik Certified Trainers after a 9-day MikroTik Academy Trainer’s Bootcamp. Obtaining a minimum of 75 percent (75%) in MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA) and in either MikroTik Certified Router Engineer (MTCRE) or MikroTik Certified User Management Engineer (MTCUME) is a requirement to qualify as a MikroTik Academy Trainer. For the academic institution to qualify as a MikroTik Academy, it needs at least one full-time academic employee who is a certified MikroTik Academy Trainer. Cor Jesu College is now one of the certified MikroTik Academy in the Philippines. The Bootcamp was facilitated by Engr. Alan Roy Pamitalan, a Mikrotik Certified Trainer. The certified trainers from Cor Jesu College are faculty members from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) – Juvy Amor M. Galindo, MEP, Engr. Wella Lyn A. Mateo, and Mr. Benjie A. Pabroa, MIT. With the three trainers, Cor Jesu College may now offer a MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA) course to students of Cor Jesu College starting AY 2018-2019.
