Computer Studies Professors receive Best Paper Award

A research paper by the professors in the Computer Studies of Cor Jesu College was awarded as one of the best papers (honorable mention) during the 1st Information and Computing Education (ICE) Conference held at Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CITU) last October 4-6, 2018.

The paper entitled “Analyses on Inquiry-based Web Access using Clustering and Association Algorithms” was presented by Mr. Cesar Tecson, MIT, program head for Computer Studies at the CJC College of Engineering and Technology, and one of the authors, during the conference. His co-authors, who are also professors of the Computer Studies of Cor Jesu College, are Daryl Ivan Hisola, Ciemavil Alcain, and Aubrey Nacua.

The conference aimed to gather information and computing professionals, teachers, students, and researchers to share their research outputs in computing, computer science, computer engineering, computational science, information science, information technology, and computing education. It was sponsored by the Computing Society of the Philippines (CSP), an organization whose thrust is promoting research and development in computing science and other related fields.

“This achievement is something that we are really so happy about.  CSP is a very prestigious organization composed of IT and computing professionals and researchers in the country.  It is a huge blessing, at the same an honor, that our quality and strengths are being recognized by this organization.  This gives us more inspiration to be always at our best in delivering our programs under the Computer Studies of Cor Jesu College,” Mr. Tecson said.
