CJC Management Distributes Rice Assistance to Employees Amid Global Oil Crisis

Cor Jesu College, Inc. (CJC), through the initiative of the top management led by School President Br. Ellakim P. Sosmeña, SC, and Vice President for Finance and Administration Br. Ernesto Quidet Jr., SC, distributed 25-kilogram sacks of rice to all employees in April 2026 amid the height of the global oil crisis affecting many families and increasing the cost of daily necessities.

The rice assistance was provided as the institution’s response to help employees cope with the increasing cost of basic commodities brought about by rising fuel prices and economic challenges.

Br. Ernesto Quidet Jr., SC, announced the rice distribution on April 13 during an employee assembly. The initiative was warmly received by employees, who expressed their gratitude and joy for the support extended by the institution.

In a social media post, CJC employee Ms. Julie Mae Tigao Guanga shared that the free 25-kilogram sack of rice was a big help to their family, especially at a time when buying rice had become difficult due to rising prices. She also expressed happiness and appreciation for the assistance provided by the school.

Faculty members, staff, and non-teaching personnel received the rice assistance as part of the school’s continuing commitment to support the welfare of its employees during difficult economic conditions.

Over the years, rice assistance has consistently been part of the administration’s support initiatives for employees, especially during the Christmas season, reflecting the institution’s continuing commitment to employee welfare, food security, and community support during challenging times.
