Civil Engineering Students Gain Global Engineering Perspectives Through Malaysia–Singapore Learning Tour

From July 6–12, 2026, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering students of Cor Jesu College participated in the Malaysia–Singapore International Educational Tour 2026, an immersive learning experience that brought civil engineering concepts beyond the classroom and into actual academic, industrial, and urban settings. The tour exposed students to universities, laboratories, railway infrastructure, wastewater treatment facilities, professional engineering practice, and integrated urban planning across Malaysia and Singapore.

The academic journey began at the Faculty of Engineering of Universiti Malaya, where students explored engineering programs, research activities, and specialized laboratories involving soil mechanics, concrete and rebar testing, and river engineering. The delegation also visited facilities associated with the Klang Valley Double Track railway project, gaining firsthand insights into railway systems, maintenance, safety, and infrastructure management. At the Pantai 2 Sewage Treatment Plant operated by Indah Water, students examined wastewater treatment processes, sludge management, resource recovery, and sustainable systems, highlighting the interconnected roles of civil, environmental, and hydraulic engineering in urban services.
