On Thursday, June 5, 2025, the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management students of Cor Jesu College, Inc. took part in an insightful Educational Tour at the Big 8 Corporate Hotel in Digos City. The activity was part of their subject, Applied Business Tools and Technologies. This activity aimed to provide real-world exposure to industry-standard systems and hospitality operations.

Accompanied by their instructor, Ms. Frangelin P. Bendisula, the students attended a seminar on the hotel’s information system, Oracle Hospitality, facilitated by Mr. Rindale John B. Tuling, the hotel’s Management Information System (MIS) Officer. The session introduced the students to the software’s interface, functionalities, and how it supports day-to-day hotel operations.

What made the experience even more enriching was the opportunity for students to personally operate the hotel’s booking software through the guidance of Ms. Marnie Joy V. Sumod-ong and Ms. Ivy Grace Arendain, who patiently demonstrated its step-by-step use and practical applications in front office transactions.

The students were also given a tour around the hotel’s key facilities, including the reception area, cashier section, and guest rooms. They learned how to process customer bookings, understand room classifications, and observe the standards of hotel service—all thanks to the warm hospitality and thorough guidance of the hotel staff.

To cap off the day, the students were treated to delicious snacks and a buffet lunch, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
Organized by Ms. Frechelle Ann V. Hibalay, the tour showcased CJC’s Hospitality Management students in their corporate uniforms, embodying professionalism and school pride throughout the visit.
Such immersive experiences play a vital role in bridging classroom knowledge with real-world application, preparing CJC students to become competent and confident future professionals in the hospitality industry
