Brother Polycarp Foundation Conducts Relief Operations for Earthquake-Affected Communities in Jose Abad Santos

The Brother Polycarp Foundation, in coordination with Cor Jesu College, Inc., conducted a two-day relief operation from June 30 to July 1, 2026, in Barangay Butulan and Barangay Bukid, Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental. The initiative aimed to provide assistance to families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8, 2026.

The relief mission brought together volunteers, partners, and members of the Cor Jesu community who worked collectively to deliver aid and support to residents impacted by the disaster. Through the distribution of relief goods and other essential assistance, the activity sought to help affected families as they continue to recover from the challenges brought by the earthquake.

As part of the mission, the team also made a brief visit to the earthquake’s ground zero area. Witnessing firsthand the extent of the destruction, volunteers observed numerous homes and structures that were completely leveled by the powerful quake. The visit provided a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by affected communities and reinforced the importance of continued support and recovery efforts.

The outreach initiative reflects the enduring commitment of the Brother Polycarp Foundation and Cor Jesu College to community service and humanitarian response. By extending assistance to communities in need, the institution continues to embody its mission of compassion, solidarity, and social responsibility.

As recovery efforts continue in the affected areas, the foundation remains grateful to its volunteers, donors, and partners whose generosity and dedication made the relief operations possible. Their collective efforts demonstrate the power of collaboration in bringing hope and support to communities during times of adversity.
