School preps for face-to-face classes

New classrooms built

After the series of earthquakes damaged a substantial number of classrooms on the campus last October 2019, the school completed the construction of new classrooms made of lightweight materials which are envisioned to be utilized if face-to-face classes will be permitted next school year.

Schools must be equipped with more facilities to improve the student-to-classroom ratio and to prepare if partial face-to-face classes will be implemented next year due to social-distancing measures put in place.

“It is expected to be utilized next opening of classes on August 2021 if face-to-face classes will be allowed,” Br. Quidet said

This project has an estimated cost of PHP40 million to PHP50 million and was successfully attained through the school’s insurance and initiatives to raise funds and donations from the private sectors.

“The estimated 60 temporary or provisional classrooms all over the campus are made by lightweight materials considered to be earthquake-ready. The new temporary classrooms are properly ventilated and environmental-friendly with the addition of landscapes and trees to cool down the hot climate,” Br. Quidet added.

The newly built classrooms were located at the Miserior Ground, Camp Raymond, Polycarp, and Coindre building areas.

“I am very proud of all the efforts of the school in reconstructing new buildings for the students and teachers to conduct their classes. This means that the school is really committed to its promise of quality education and drawing out the best of its students. The construction of these classrooms shows that the school really continues its mission of delivering quality education to its students,” Efrel Rose Tampus, a Senior high school teacher said.
