Cor Jesu College, Brgy. Dulangan Ink MOA on Community Engagement

Basic Ed Conducts Community Day

To strengthen community engagement between the school and its partners, Cor Jesu College-Basic Education Department, Barangay Dulangan, and Dulangan Elementary School (DES) signed a memorandum of agreement last January 7, 2023 at Dulangan Elementary School, Dulangan, Digos City. 

The MOA was signed by Barangay Captain Roger Estabaya, DES Principal, Rex Sayson, Br. Polycarp Executive Director Maribel Guerra, PTEA President Aura Galeos, and CJC-BED Principal Jun Rey D. Dequiña.

Through the signing of the MOA, Barangay Dulangan became the second recipient community partner of CJC-BED. 

The signing of MOA intensifies the department’s goals of strengthening its community extension initiatives by opening programs for education, health, security, women empowerment, capacity-building, and the like in its partner community.

During the signing ceremony, CJC-BED, facilitated by BED teachers and student leaders, also conducted a Community Day among DES parents and students.

The activities include Math Tutorial for numeracy development and English tutorial for literacy program for grades 5 and 6 students who needed remedial support in these subjects. Value Formation Session through storytelling was also conducted. 

“I am very happy that we were given this opportunity to show our pillar of excellence and apostleship in helping the Dulangan community to grow further,” said Lance Uychoco, RCY president.

For the parents, Responsible Parenting Symposium, spearheaded by the head of the Guidance and Counseling Center, Madam Jingle S. Navarez was also held to educate parents about responsible parenting and its importance in a child’s life. 

“Daghang salamat sa  Cor Jesu sa pagmahal sa amoa diri sa Dulangan,” said Mrs. Cherry Tumanbod, one of the parent-participants from Barangay Dulangan.

The activity ended with the distribution of spaghetti packs and school supplies to parents and students.

The event was attended by barangay officials, CJC-BED faculty, staff, and student leaders and DES  administrators, teachers, parents and students.
