CJC Engineering students excel during 8th Engineering Congress

10423658_10205833070606219_6348883677956397778_nThree students from the Engineering and Technology Division (ETD) of Cor Jesu College was proclaimed champion in Design Project Competition under the Industrial and Biomedical Category during the 8th Engineering Congress held at University of Mindanao Professional Schools, Matina Campus, Matina, Davao City last March 11, 2016.

The winning entry was the research project of Ellen Jean V. Aclan, Jumarch V. Beltran, and Leslie S. Caminade.  The title of their research project was “Electrical Power Management with Mobile Text Messaging.”

The congress was sponsored by the Council of Deans for Engineering Education (CODEE) XI in cooperation with the Commissi9n on Higher Education Regional Office (CHED-RO) XI and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region XI.

“It is a very good and useful project.  It can be commercialized which is applicable for big establishments or individual houses,” explained by Engr. Jonas M. Placer, the division chairperson of the Engineering and Technology Division (TED).   “Users of this device can monitor energy consumption and are guided in implementing an effective energy management,” he added.

 

The congress was attended by students and professors from different schools in Region XI.  Engr. Jonathan B. Tungal, the students’ adviser, expressed his joy and appreciation to the efforts of the students in making such project with his guidance.
