CJC celebrates Feast of the Sacred Heart

IMG_1550With the theme “Making God’s love known”, Cor Jesu College had a weeklong celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart on June 17-26, 2015.

On June 17-25 at 4:30 in the afternoon, Novena Prayers to the Sacred Heart were conducted at the Coindre Building ground and led by different offices. On June 24 at 6:00 in the evening, students were gathered at the Gymnasium for the Taize Prayer organized by the Sacred Heart Formation and Mission. Br. Jerry Peladra, SC, one of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, took the lead of the prayer. This was, indeed, an experience of meditation prayer and music.

Administrators, teachers, staff and students joined the Stations of the Heart. Teacher Education Division stayed at the Coindre building ground for the first station, Division of Business and Accountancy and Computer Studies Division stayed at the Coindre building lobby for the second station, Arts and Sciences Division, Engineering Technology Division and Health Sciences Division stayed at the Piazza del Sacre Coure for the third station and Vocational Technology and Basic Education Department (BED) stayed at the BED campus ground for the third station. This was a prayerful procession to culminate the Novena Prayer held on June 25 at 3:30 in the afternoon.

There was also Exchange of Hearts: a simple gesture and symbol of the CJC’s one community united in the Heart of Christ. Everyone had been asked to prepare a heart-shaped card or a card with a heart symbol containing a message, prayer, inspiration or encouragement for others. Exchanging of hearts was done during the singing of the final song of the stations of the heart.
