Alyssa Pilar 
Almazan, a fourth year Accountancy student, bested 35 other contestants from 17 universities and colleges all over Mindanao and captured the crown during the 8th National Accounting Quiz Showdown (NAQDown) – Mindanao Finals held at the Ateneo de Davao University on July 12, 2015.
Each school sent 2 individual contestants. During the elimination, 10 individuals qualified and advanced to the semi-final round: 1 from Cor Jesu College (Digos City), 2 from University of Southern Mindanao (Kabacan, North Cotabao), 1 from Father Saturnino Urios University (Butuan City), 1 from Holy Trinity College (General Santos City), 1 from Ateneo de Davao University (Davao City), 2 from Ateneo de Zamboanga University (Zamboanga City), 1 from University of Mindanao Tagum College (Tagum City), and 1 from Central Mindanao University (Valencia City, Bukidnon).
Then, 5 competitors from Cor Jesu College (1), University of Southern Mindanao (2), Father Saturnino Urios University (1) and Holy Trinity College (1) made it to the top 5. They will advance to the National Finals sometime this year in Davao City.
The other contestant who represented Cor Jesu College was Jenli Pabalate.
This annual event was sponsored by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) in partnership with the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA)-XI.
